Are you JERFING it up?

If this is a new concept to you then don’t worry because it is to us too! You know when you find the right ‘label’ for something you have been following for years? well it’s JERF!

JERF stands for Just Eat Real Food, sounds simple to follow doesn’t it but here is the thing… it’s not.

The food around us is so processed that it is damaging our health from pre-packaged foods in the super markets to the bread used in sandwiches in petrol stations around the nation, many high in sugar, salt, trans fats and preservatives.

Here is how you can JERF it up 🙂

  1. Focus on whole foods such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, meat and fish, raw nuts, water or home made juices, legumes, dairy (limited) and natural sugars found in coconut, honey and maple syrup (very limited).
  2. Eat your foods in it’s most unprocessed state, this ensures that you know what you are actually eating and it isn’t loaded up with extra calories.
  3. Avoid having sauces and condiments as these are loaded with sugars and undesirable ingredients, if you are a ketchup fan, make you own home version!
  4. Eat from a wide variety of natural foods so that your body can function well, food is our medicine and what you put in makes you (and your health) what it is today.

The main benefits are less body fat, improved health, less risk of disease, more energy and a positive mood.
